Two phones, one bump, an honest read on how you match.
Both phones need Bluetooth on and the app open on the Bump screen, with both of you having tapped Ready to bump. Hold the phones together and give them a light tap — no force is needed. A countdown appears on any phone that felt the knock, so if only one of you sees it, the other phone did not feel the tap. If it times out, just tap again; you do not need to cancel first.
If Bluetooth will not connect at all — or you would rather not knock your phones together — use the QR option on the Bump screen: "Use QR Code Instead of Bump" on Android, "Rather not knock your phones? Swap a QR code" on iPhone. One of you shows a code, the other scans it, then swap. It gives exactly the same result.
Scores are calibrated differently between app versions, so two phones on different versions refuse to compare rather than show you two different numbers for the same pair. Update both phones from the App Store and try again.
After you scan someone's QR code, your own code appears over your result, ready for them to scan — tap "They have it" to put it away. Later, open the result and tap "Didn't they get a result?" to bring your code back.
Turn on Stay in touch in Profile and add a phone number or a handle. Contacts are swapped in the bump only when both of you have it switched on; otherwise nothing of yours is kept on their phone. Swapped contacts are saved with the match, and any saved match can also be linked to someone already in your address book.
A typical pairing lands in the mid-40s, so anything well above that means something. The number comes from the categories shown underneath it and never sits above your best one or below your worst. Answering more questions sharpens it — and whichever of you has answered fewer sets the limit for both. Deal-breakers on children, monogamy and geography cap the score no matter how well everything else went.
Open the app, go to Profile → Unlock everything, and tap Restore purchase. The unlock is tied to your Apple ID, so it works on every device you sign in to and survives reinstalling.
Profile → Delete my profile erases every answer and every saved match from your phone. Deleting the app does the same. There is no server, so there is nothing else to delete.
